First Entire Family Vacation at The Sagamore Resort

Our first entire family (mom, dad, sisters, brother, their spouses, our kids) vacation was at The Sagamore Resort on Lake George Bolton Landing, NY. My family sees each other often. My parents, sister, and brother and I live within 45 minutes from each other and my other sister lives in Boston and is always visiting us in NY. We’ve never all been away together and it was nice to be together in a different place. I planned the trip and had a lot of anxiety wondering if everyone would be comfortable, have fun, be happy. Everything was good. Huge Sigh of Relief.

The special part of this trip is my parents were joining us. I grew up in Upstate New York so it felt very familiar for my parents, sisters, brother, and me.
Lake George is a beautiful lake so a boat day is a fantastic way to enjoy it.
The kids caught a monster fish while fishing off the boat.
Tubing off the boat was a total blast! The kids could not get enough of it.
My younger sister also gave it a try.
Short driving lessons on the boat.
Everyone had a great time on the boat and the weather was fantastic.
The girls went horseback riding one morning at Saddle Up Stables.
My nephew is allergic to horses so he went fishing off The Sagamore dock. My brother taught him a few tricks and he caught 12 fish!
Kids played in the outdoor pool.
And indoor pool.
We played pickleball.
Tried to grab as much time relaxing in front of the lake. You cannot get enough of this view.
Included this photo as a reminder that families are not perfect. Relationships are complex and it’s really easy to drift apart. The beautiful part of a family is the instant community because you are the mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin, in-law, grandparent. With intention to stay connected and understanding, spending time with family can be awesome and a blessing.
